Aideen photography...Lyreen garden Centre !

Hi everyone ! Thankyou for the nice things you said about my snow photos...i carru my camera everywhere now like my mam! The nice people in the local garden center let me take spring photos they were getting new plants in and the old plants loked so sad ! There cat is named oscar like our dog! Music to our ears !

A great friend of ours, Karen , is a music teacher and has really kindly re-taught me how to read music as I want the girls to learn properly , I can`t read music ,never could , but the girls are really showing an interest so I want to be able to teach them...heres Karen doing her stuff ! Thanks Karen ,we love ya !

Tudor England , Florida and paint !

A HUGE "thankyou" to our wonderful friend Helen in Leeds who sent a barrowload of information on Leeds castle and the Tudors...lots of "ohhing" and "ahhing" went on ! This is gonna be one great project me thinks !

Some of the wonderful cards Aideen and Daisy recieved from their Homeschoolers Valentine swap ! Its a great idea and every year you get cards from different people all over the world, also this year Pebs (who organises this massive undertaking) asked everone to add information about where they live , so it became teh basis for a geography lesson/s too !

Chinese New Year

Is it just us or is the time simply flying by ??? This week Aideens been working hard on studying about the Chinese New Year , which happens to fall on the same day as St. Valentines Day ! And shes been making cards to send to her homeschool friends across the world , its always a fun time as she recieves many cards in return! Spring is really in the air now we`ve planted some new herbs and a couple of Spring primroses are appearing already ! Also we`ve planted Rocket lettuce , so hopefully that will do well as its one of our favourite lettuces! The girls Aunty Nellie came for a visit this week and brought a VERY special gift...the very first laid egg from her hens !!! Its still has straw on it ! And the girls call it their "tiny egg"...its going to be boiled tonight ,and we`re all guessing theres about a spoon full of egg in it :0) Hopefully by next Spring our own chickens will be installed !
And bargain of the week has to be our new magnifying glass, a steal at €1.50 in the local discount store ! And the girls are`nt the only ones working...as I`m busy getting my essays written the family chore chart has come in very handy this week ! Even Daisy is "signing" her name on it when she helps empty the dishwasher ! Well , till next week...bye from us all here at Scoil Dai!
