Chinese New Year

Is it just us or is the time simply flying by ??? This week Aideens been working hard on studying about the Chinese New Year , which happens to fall on the same day as St. Valentines Day ! And shes been making cards to send to her homeschool friends across the world , its always a fun time as she recieves many cards in return! Spring is really in the air now we`ve planted some new herbs and a couple of Spring primroses are appearing already ! Also we`ve planted Rocket lettuce , so hopefully that will do well as its one of our favourite lettuces! The girls Aunty Nellie came for a visit this week and brought a VERY special gift...the very first laid egg from her hens !!! Its still has straw on it ! And the girls call it their "tiny egg"...its going to be boiled tonight ,and we`re all guessing theres about a spoon full of egg in it :0) Hopefully by next Spring our own chickens will be installed !
And bargain of the week has to be our new magnifying glass, a steal at €1.50 in the local discount store ! And the girls are`nt the only ones working...as I`m busy getting my essays written the family chore chart has come in very handy this week ! Even Daisy is "signing" her name on it when she helps empty the dishwasher ! Well , till next week...bye from us all here at Scoil Dai!
